Eason here! I just wanted to make my inaugural officer post and give my commentary on why I co-founded 1001 Lives, alongside what I expect to get from it. Be sure to expect one from all the other writers on our team, too–three to five business days, perhaps?

I had always been a student who was focused on STEM. However, as useful as objective analysis with STEM can get, there are questions and problems in this world that mathematics or science simply can’t solve. Think about it–how are you even going to approach the question “How do you live a fulfilling life” scientifically?

As I grew up, experienced different areas of the world through moving, and pursued religion, questions like that stuck with me. Eventually, some questions were answered, but others still needed a resolution and even more emerged. This didn’t sit right with me. I searched for answers, both to satisfy myself and to share with those around me. Some were specific. What do people think about the morality of gambling? What should a person do when faced with the difficulty of a rough childhood? Others were bigger in nature. How do you eventually find your passions in life? How do you truly balance hard work and happiness? 

When I heard someone else was struggling with these problems, I just had to reach out. This was how I met Ben, the other co-founder of this club. As we’ve said many times before on our website, we try to find an answer through interviewing people from all walks of life. This has been my personal experience with 1001 Lives.
